Punch Upon a Time Squad Builder

The Squad Builder is an interactive tool that helps you plan your three-character composition for Squad Saga. Pick any three characters from the launch roster and the tool instantly shows role coverage, damage type balance, and the Pocket Items that synergise with your squad. Use it before your next ranked lobby to test new compositions without spending time in Practice mode.

How to use the Squad Builder

1. Pick three characters from the dropdowns below — one slot per pilot.
2. Review the role coverage panel — the tool warns if your squad is missing a tank, support, or damage dealer.
3. Review the Pocket Item loadout panel — the tool suggests two Pocket Items per pilot based on the squad composition.
4. Click Copy Squad to put the composition on your clipboard.

Role coverage

The Squad Builder classifies every character into one of four roles: ranged, grappler, tank, or support. A balanced squad has at least one character from two different roles. The optimal composition has at least one tank and one damage dealer — three supports or three tanks will lose most rounds.

Pocket Item loadouts

The Squad Builder suggests Pocket Items based on the squad composition:

• Defensive squad (two tanks + one support): Freeze Wand + Medkit + Shield Charm.
• Offensive squad (two grapplers + one ranged): Big Top Hat + Speed Boost + Magic Bomb.
• Balanced squad (one of each role): Freeze Wand + Big Top Hat + Medkit.

Best compositions for new pilots

The Squad Builder ranks the following compositions as the strongest for new pilots:

• Merlin + Little Red + Goldilocks — the canonical beginner composition. One ranged, one grappler, one support.
• Sleeping Beauty + Three Little Pigs + Goldilocks — the durable defensive composition. Two tanks and one support.
• Frog Prince + Pinocchio + Merlin — the aggressive dive composition. Two grapplers and one ranged.
